Subscribers

Our website does not require any form of registration, allowing you to visit our site without telling us who you are. However when you register as a subscriber, we will request your email address which is then held within our website. We will only use your e-mail address to:

  • keep you advised of the addition of any new content on our website

  • let you know about future events involving the Society 

  • ask you to participate in online surveys

  • notify you of any changes to this Privacy Policy as it relates to subscribers

We will not share your e-mail address with any person or organisation outside RHS without your consent. Our website runs on the cloud-based web development platform of Wix.com. This is a link to the GDPR page on their website. It includes their Right to access and Right to be forgotten provisions.

We will only use your e-mail address to reply to your message. We will not share information submitted with any person or organisation outside RHS. Our website runs on the Wix.com platform referred to in the Subscribers section of this policy.

Members

 

RHS is required under its Constitution, to maintain a register of members setting out the full name and address of each member, along with the date they became members and the date they ceased to be members. They are also asked to provide an e-mail address. This information is required to enable RHS to comply with the terms of its Constitution and to enable the RHS Management Committee to keep members advised of RHS activities, or about any changes to this Privacy Policy as it relates to members.

This information is held by the Secretary of the Management Committee of RHS on computerised records. Members can ask at any time for details of the information held about them and to have these changed if necessary. We will not share any of this information with any person or organisation outside RHS without the member’s consent.

This information is obtained from members and those wishing to become members, in a written membership application form which will be retained and stored securely by the Secretary of the Management Committee of RHS. Signature of this application form by members and those wishing to become members will be regarded as acceptance by the signatory, of the terms of this Privacy Policy as it relates to members.

 

The membership application form is also available in digital format in the the Membership section of this website. Any digital membership application forms completed and submitted, will be stored on the Wix.com platform referred to in the Subscribers section of this policy.
