As part of South Lanarksire Leisure and Culture's inaugural Local Heritage Month, we held an Open Afternoon in Rutherglen Library on Saturday, 11th. May. This gave us a great opportunity to share with interested local people, details of what we're all about.
We had displays of Caledonian Pottery, old maps, photographs and showed our archive of data about the boundary stones.
It seemed to go down pretty well judging by the response of the people who visited us. One lady, having met us and learned about what we do, remarked 'It's really great to know that you're doing this' which I thought made the day worthwhile in itself! Hopefully we will be able to hold similar events again should South Lanarkshire decide to run Local Heritage months in future.
Thanks to Zen Boyd of Rutherglen Heritage Centre for inviting us to take part this year.
